Job summary

Centerstone in Cleveland, TN is seeking a school-based therapist to provide counseling services to students with behavioral and mental health needs. The role includes individual, family, and group therapy in a 10-month position, with a strong emphasis on clinical judgment and timely documentation.

You will collaborate with school staff, attend meetings, and maintain treatment plans while delivering evidence-based interventions.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required in Clinical Psychology, MH Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or MH Counseling specialization.
• License-eligible in respective discipline preferred.
• Completion of at least 24 graduate-level semester hours in psychology, social work, counseling or related behavioral health coursework.
• Relevant coursework and work experience: clinical treatment and treatment planning, appraisal and assessment of mental disorders, psychopathology, DSM usage.
• Clinical experience is required (through practicum or internship during master’s program).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESAbility to formulate a diagnosis upon completion of intake assessmentComplete timely clinical documentationCreate and update treatment plans according to policyProvide therapy services based upon assessment of clinical needs and diagnosisRespond to supervisory communication including urgent care situations and other clinical needs as applicable in virtual or face to face settingsKeep administrative supervisor informed of all potential issues that could impact the program or the organizationRespond to needs of clients in a timely and professional mannerDemonstrate good clinical judgment in client careKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIESAbility to successfully utilize computer/electronic equipment and softwareQUALIFICATIONSEducation RequirementsA Master’s degree is required in one of the following fields: Clinical Psychology, Mental Health (MH) Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, and/or a specialization in MH CounselingLicense-eligible in respective discipline preferred.ORApplicants with a Master’s degree in a related field (outside of the disciplines listed above) must meet the following criteria:Completion of at least 24 graduate-level semester hours in psychology, social work, counseling, or other behavioral health-related coursework.Relevant coursework and work experience in the following areas:Clinical treatment and treatment planningAppraisal and assessment of mental disordersPsychopathologyUse of the DSM for diagnostic purposes within a clinical internship or practicum in a behavioral health settingExperience RequirementsClinical experience is required.
