Job summary

Centerstone in Pittsfield, IL (Pike County) seeks a School-Based Support Specialist to deliver in-school mental health services and support students academically and emotionally. You will work on school premises, using evidence-based strategies to promote recovery and resilience, while coordinating with families and school staff.

The role requires a bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or related field, with licensing and driving requirements as applicable.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related human services field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in an unrelated field and two years of related experience.
  • Four years of supervised qualifying experience in mental health, substance use, or developmental disability services.
  • Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver mental health services to students on school premises.
  • Support treatment goals using evidence-based strategies and a strengths-based approach.
  • Manage a student caseload and provide care coordination with other service providers.
  • Conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and participate in client staffings.
  • Provide crisis response and follow-up support, including outreach for missed appointments.
