Job summary

USD 259 is seeking a Speech and Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) for the 2026-2027 school year to provide targeted instruction to students with speech and language needs. The SLPA will work under the supervision of a licensed SLP, screen and assess students, and implement prescribed treatment plans.

Key duties include data collection, progress reporting, telepractice when appropriate, and collaboration with teachers and families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or SLPA credential is required.
• Certification as an SLPA is required.
• Experience assisting with speech-language services for students is preferred.
• Ability to follow supervising SLP treatment plans and protocols.

Responsibilities

• Assist the supervising SLP with screenings and assessments under supervision.
• Provide instructional support per prescribed treatment plans.
• Deliver services via telepractice when directed by the supervising SLP.
• Document student progress and communicate findings to the SLP.
• Prepare materials, schedule activities, and maintain equipment as directed.
• Travel between schools as required by the district.
