Job summary

Crescent City Schools is hiring a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant to work under the supervision of a Speech-Language Pathologist. The role involves screenings, small-group work, and contributing to IEPs and progress reports to help students meet their objectives.

The SLP-A will collaborate with the Director of Special Education, remain current with regulations, and participate in meetings as needed. The position is in-person in New Orleans, LA, with potential for growth within the Lead Scale

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in speech-language pathology with required core coursework as dictated by LBESPA.
• Louisiana State Speech-Language Pathology Assistant Licensure is required for practice.
• This is an in-person role and requires working closely with students and teams.

Responsibilities

• Screen students for speech and language, and conduct hearing screenings (pass/fail).
• Assist in language development with students one-on-one or in small groups.
• Help write IEPs and progress reports to track objectives.
• Attend IEP meetings and conferences with supervision where appropriate.
