Job summary

Vestavia Hills City Schools seeks a Registered Behavior Technician to provide direct behavior support to students and implement behavior intervention plans under supervision. Qualifications

  • Registered Behavior Technician Credential required.
  • Previous experience preferred.
  • High school graduate or equivalent and basic skills competency.
  • Adequate strength and dexterity for required tasks (lifting, stooping, bending).
  • Ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships.
  • Background clearance as required by Alabama statutes and State Board of Education regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
  • Works 1-on-1 with students utilizing Applied Behavior Analysis principles.
  • Implements strategies in the student’s Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP).
  • Prepares materials for individualized programs.
  • Collaborates with regular and special education teachers across schools and classrooms.
  • Provides direct behavior support to students in 1:1 and group settings.
  • Implements and monitors student behavior plans and educational plans to support appropriate behaviors.
  • Records quality behavioral data to monitor progress and reports progress or regression to the BCBA and case manager.
  • Maintains RBT certification and participates in supervision sessions.
