Job summary

Willowbrooke is seeking a School-Based Therapist to provide individual, group, and family sessions to students on campus, in the community, homes, clinic, and via telehealth. You’ll collaborate with school counselors, social workers, administrators, and families to proactively reach students in need.

Join our collaborative team to help students find mental health resources in their communities and support the academic calendar through flexible PRN, 10-month, or 12-month arrangements.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in counseling or related field.
• At least one year of training in a specialty resulting in certification.
• No prior work experience required.
• Ability to concentrate on task in high traffic areas.
• Ability to deal with a crisis and potentially combative patients while maintaining personal and emotional terminology.
• Ability to empathetically relate to people.
• Maintain information as highly confidential.
• Meet deadlines.
• Assessment and intervention skills.
• Basic data entry skills required and preference for basic computer skills.
• Familiar with clinical terminology.
• Familiarity with the continuum of care.
• If recovering from alcohol or drug addiction, clean and sober for 2 years.
• Knowledge of DSM IV diagnostic criteria.
• Legible handwriting.
• Must have a Master's degree in counseling or related field.
• Substance abuse counselors must have a Master's degree and MAC or be a certified addiction counselor supervisor.
• Persuasive manner and skills in overcoming denial and resistance to treatment.
• Time management and sound organization skills.
• Employee will obtain CPR and SCIPP certification within 90 days.

Education

Master's Degree in counseling or related field plus at least one year of training in a specialty resulting in certification
