Job summary

Concord Counseling Services in Westerville, OH is seeking a School Based Prevention Clinician to partner with school staff, families, and students to prevent mental illness and substance use disorders while supporting school functioning. You will provide individual, group, and classroom-based prevention, early intervention, crisis referrals, and collaboration with community resources.

A Master’s in Social Work, Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy and an active Ohio license (LISW/LPCC/IMFT

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy.
• Active Ohio license as Social Worker (LISW), Professional Counselor (LPCC), or Marriage and Family Therapist (IMFT) preferred; LSW/LPC/MFT with experience considered.
• Clinical mental health experience with school-aged children/teens; school experience preferred but not required.
• Strong time-management, independence and teamwork abilities; excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and EMR systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical services to prevent onset of mental illness or substance use disorders and support student resilience.
• Deliver individual, group, and classroom-based prevention, early intervention, and education; crisis intervention and referrals to community services.
• Collaborate with school staff, families, and students to support social/emotional/academic wellbeing.

Your Job Opportunity

School-Based Prevention Clinicians partner with school staff, families, and students to provide clinical services to prevent the onset of mental illness or substance use disorders, reduce emotional/behavioral symptoms that affect school functioning, and build resiliency.

• Clinical services include: individual, group, and whole classroom prevention, early intervention, student/family/staff education, crisis intervention, referrals to community services, and collaboration to support student social/emotional/academic wellbeing.
• There are positions available at middle, and high school levels. There are several options for staff opportunities over the summer, including running prevention groups and providing short-term therapy.

Requirements

Qualifications Required for Success for School Based Prevention Clinician

• Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy
• Must hold an active Ohio Social Work, Professional Counselor, or Marriage and Family Therapist License (LISW, LPCC, IMFT preferred; LSW, LPC, or MFT with experience).
• Clinical mental health experience working with school-aged children/teens. Experience working in schools is preferred, but not required.
• Must be a self-starter, able to demonstrate flexibility, work independently as well as part of a team, have excellent time-management, organization, communication, and interpersonal skills, and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word and Excel, Google Workspace, and electronic medical records is preferred.
