A 1:1 Personal Care Assistant provides direct, individualized support to a student throughout the school day to ensure their safety, comfort, and full access to instruction. This role typically includes helping with daily living tasks such as mobility, toileting, feeding, and hygiene; monitoring health or behavioral needs; supporting transitions between classes; and reinforcing routines or accommodations outlined in the student's IEP. The assistant works closely with teachers and related service providers to maintain a consistent, supportive environment that allows the student to participate meaningfully in all school activities.
