Qualifications

• Master's degree in occupational therapy.
• Current SC Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners certification.
• Valid state driver's license.
• Experience in an educational setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates referred students by assessing ROM, muscle strength, tone, sensory systems, fine motor, self-help, oral-motor and visual-perceptual skills.
• Administers standardized tests as appropriate.
• Communicates evaluation results to parents and teachers.
• Coordinates, with a multi-disciplinary team, individual strategies, accommodations and use of adaptive equipment.
• Plans, coordinates and provides occupational therapy treatment sessions and trains students in adaptive equipment.
• Prepares documentation, progress notes, Medicaid summaries and IEP updates.
