Job summary

Neosho SD Special Services is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to provide educationally related occupational therapy services to students in the Neosho, Missouri area. The role involves collaborating with OTs, teachers, and families to implement IEP goals and adapt activities for classroom access.

The position requires NBCOT certification, a relevant degree, and ability to work across multiple school sites. Immediate start; extensive interaction with students and staff.

Qualifications

• Requires NBCOT certification and valid OT licensure.
• Experience working with school-aged students and familiarity with IEPs is preferred.
• Ability to collaborate with teachers, administrators and therapists to implement goals.

Responsibilities

• Adapts school and classroom environment, tools and materials under supervision of the Occupational Therapist to improve student functioning.
• Assists with assessing students’ fine motor and developmental skills to determine deficits and recommendations.
• Attends IEP meetings and other team meetings to share information and plan services.
• Implements therapeutic activities and instructs students, teachers and families to support IEP goals.
• Maintains records and documentation for compliance and progress reporting.

Education

Community College/Vocational School degree in related area

National Board Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
