Job summary

Strides Therapy & Educational Services in Sarasota, FL is seeking a School-Based Occupational Therapist to support students within the local school district. You will assess needs, develop individualized plans, and implement therapy aimed at improving participation in classroom activities.

This in-person role requires FL state OT licensure, a Master’s or Doctorate in OT, and experience in pediatric or school-based settings. 37.5 hours per week with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • Master's or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Florida state licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Experience in pediatric or school-based occupational therapy is desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with students, parents, educators, and staff.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage a diverse caseload.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide evidence-based OT interventions to improve fine motor, sensory processing, and functional independence.
  • Collaborate with educators, parents, and school-based team to support participation in classroom activities.
  • Monitor and document progress, adapting plans as needed for optimal outcomes.
  • Educate parents, teachers, and staff on strategies to enhance fine motor skills and sensory regulation.
  • Maintain accurate records, including session notes, progress reports, and billing documentation.
  • Stay current with pediatric OT research, best practices, and techniques.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, team meetings, and professional development.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations governing school-based OT.

Responsibilities

Qualifications
  • Master's degree or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Florida state licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Experience in pediatric or school-based occupational therapy is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, educators, and support staff.
