Job summary

Talented Medical Solutions is seeking a School-Based Occupational Therapist in Bakersfield, CA to support students across multiple school sites. The role combines in-person and remote therapy, with a caseload of about 10 students per day.

You will assess eligibility, develop individualized plans, and collaborate with teachers, families, and IEP teams to meet student goals. Supervisory responsibilities for COTAs may apply, with emphasis on compliance to CA OT standards and IEP processes.

Qualifications

• Previous school-based OT experience is required.
• Strong clinical, communication, and documentation skills.
• Knowledge of IEP processes and collaboration within educational teams.
• Familiarity with early intervention strategies and autism support.
• Experience supervising COTAs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine eligibility for school-based OT services.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans and IEP goals.

• Provide direct therapy services to students in accordance with goals and frequency.
• Document sessions, progress, and communications accurately and timely.

• Ensure services comply with California Occupational Therapy Practice Act and AOTA standards.

• Adapt therapy techniques to meet individual needs.

About the Opportunity

Join a supportive and collaborative school district team in Bakersfield, CA as a School-Based Occupational Therapist! This role is ideal for an experienced OT passionate about helping students reach their fullest potential in academic and functional performance. You’ll work with a diverse caseload of school-aged children, providing therapy services both in-person and remotely across multiple school sites.
