Qualifications

• Licensed in Ohio to practice Occupational Therapy.
• Teaching license to practice Occupational Therapy in a school setting in Ohio.

Responsibilities

• Provides an occupational therapy evaluation as part of the required multi-factored assessment.
• Assists in the development of the IEP.
• Provides therapy which will improve, develop or restore functions impaired or lost through illness, injury or deprivation; improves ability to perform task for independent functioning when functions are impaired or lost.
• Prevents, through early intervention, initial of further impairment of loss of function.
• The services of an Occupational Therapist may include: functioning as a consultant with the child's parent and school personnel.
• Attends/participates in building-level or therapy-specific Professional Learning Community.
• Instructing parents and teachers in the use of techniques and equipment.
• Assisting in the provision of the specialized and adaptive activities in the prevocational and vocational programs.
• Coordinates the occupational therapy program with physical therapy, classroom and speech therapy schedules.
• Reports to the building principal and to the Director of Special Education.

Education

Licensed in the State of Ohio to practice Occupational Therapy; Teaching license to practice Occupational Therapy in a school setting in State of Ohio.
