Job summary

Thrive Therapies seeks a school-based occupational therapist to serve K–12 students, focusing on fine motor development, sensory processing, self-care, and classroom participation.

You will conduct evaluations, develop IEP goals, and deliver direct therapy within educational settings, collaborating with teachers, SLPs, and other staff to support student access to learning.

Qualifications

• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an ACOTE-accredited program
• NBCOT certification (OTR) in good standing
• Active state OT license in good standing, or initiation of licensure transfer before start date
• Knowledge of IDEA, IEP process, and educational OT model

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive OT evaluations to determine educational need and IDEA eligibility
• Write evaluation reports that are clinically rigorous and accessible to IEP teams and families
• Participate in eligibility determination meetings and translate OT findings for educational planning
• Develop individualized OT IEP goals targeting handwriting, fine motor, sensory regulation, and self-care
• Deliver direct individual and small-group therapy sessions using OT frameworks
• Provide consultative services to teachers and paraprofessionals on sensory accommodations
• Maintain accurate service logs and progress notes using Thrive’s AI documentation tools

What You'll Do

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an ACOTE-accredited program
• NBCOT certification (OTR) in good standing
• Active state OT license, or documented initiation of licensure transfer
• Knowledge of IDEA, the IEP process, and the educational model of occupational therapy
  
  

School-based experience, sensory integration training, and experience with AAC or assistive technology are preferred.
