Job summary

Backpack Healthcare is seeking a School Based Mental Health Therapist in Fairfax County, VA. This clinician will provide on-site therapy during school hours and may also offer telehealth sessions to support caseload growth.

Qualified applicants hold a Master’s degree in Counseling or Social Work, a Virginia license (LCSW-C/Supervisee or LPC/LPC-R), and experience with youth in school or outpatient settings.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related field is required.
• Active Virginia license: LCSW-C/Supervisee in Social Work/LPC/LPC-R is required or in supervision.
• Experience with youth in schools, outpatient, or virtual settings is preferred.
• Strong clinical skills in individual and family therapy are required.
• Cultural competence and a trauma-informed approach are essential.
• Demonstrated passion for improving access to mental health for kids and teens.

Responsibilities

• Deliver on-site, school-based therapy to students during school hours.
• Offer telehealth sessions (optional) to supplement caseload or onboarding.
• Conduct mental health assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Collaborate with school staff, families, and the Backpack clinical team.
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation in the EHR.
• Participate in supervision (if pre-licensed) and team case consultations.

• Schedule: Part-Time/Full-Time (7am-4pm)

What You'll Do
