Job summary

Effective School Solutions (ESS) seeks a dedicated professional to support students’ behavioral health within public schools. You will collaborate with ESS clinicians to implement individualized care plans, monitor student progress, and respond to crises to keep students safe and ready to learn.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a school or clinical setting supporting student behavioral health.
  • Experience working with students, families, and community-based mental health or social service agencies.
  • Strong interpersonal, problem solving, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of basic therapeutic interventions and counseling techniques.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Cultural competency and sensitivity to diverse student populations.
  • Demonstrated commitment to improving access to behavioral health services in schools.

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with ESS clinicians to support students' mental health and well-being.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing timely updates to the interdisciplinary team.
  • Assist in the development, implementation and reinforcement of the individualized care plans.
  • Co-facilitate group interventions and student support sessions under clinician guidance.
  • Support therapeutic milieu management (scheduling sessions, managing passes, lunch support, skill building, escorting students).
  • Provide in-classroom support through observation and targeted interventions.
  • Collect and track student data; assist in developing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) as needed.
  • Respond to crisis situations effectively, coordinating with clinicians, school staff, and parents as directed.
  • Collaborate with family and external providers to strengthen student support systems.
  • Assist with case management tasks, including referrals and connecting families to community resources.
