Job summary

ERA ED, a division of The Stepping Stones Group, is hiring immediately for a part-time Mental Health Associate (MHA) in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA. This role supports children, adolescents, and families across home and school-based settings while you build clinical hours toward licensure under supervision.

You'll gain exposure to IEP teams, work with school districts, and receive mentorship through our year-long Mental Health Training Program, with flexible scheduling and comprehensive supervision.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Registered Associate with the Board of Behavioral Sciences (AMFT, ACSW, or APCC) - current or in process.
  • Availability Monday through Friday; commitment to 20 hours per week.
  • Clinical experience with children and/or adolescents preferred.
  • School-based service experience preferred.
  • Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide counseling to children, adolescents, and families using evidence-based treatments.
  • Deliver short-term, strengths-based counseling and skill-building interventions.
  • Provide prevention and early intervention services to improve coping and engagement.
  • Engage caregivers through psychoeducation and family sessions.
  • Collaborate with IEP teams and participate in IEP meetings.
  • Work with school staff and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Facilitate groups/workshops in the school setting to promote mental health.
  • Respond to crises with safety planning and risk assessments.
  • Complete timely clinical documentation and maintain caseload management.
  • Coordinate care with community resources and participate in weekly supervision.

Education

About the Role

ERA ED, a division of The Stepping Stones Group, is hiring immediately for a part-time Mental Health Associate (MHA) in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA. This position is ideal for registered associates (AMFT, ACSW, or APCC) looking to build clinical hours toward licensure while working in a supportive, mentorship-driven environment.

Work takes place across home and school-based settings, offering hands-on experience with children, adolescents, and families. Associates gain exposure to IEP teams and school district partnerships while receiving quality supervision and professional development through our year-long Mental Health Training Program.

Mental Health Training Program

All Mental Health Associates participate in the ERA ED Mental Health Training Program, which runs each school year from August 1 through July 31, with possibility of extension. Associates are expected to participate for the full program year. Supervised Professional Experience is provided in accordance with regulations set forth by the Board of Behavioral Sciences.
