Brown University Health seeks a School-Based Clinical Therapist to coordinate care for students with behavioral health needs. You will provide outpatient therapy to a small group, train school staff, and connect families to community resources.
The role emphasizes collaboration with schools, families, and providers to ensure timely access to services and safety planning where needed. Strong communication and licensure readiness are required.
The School-Based Clinical Therapist provides care coordination to students with behavioral health challenges, outpatient individual therapy to a small group of students best served in the school setting, and education on behavioral health topics to school personnel. The Therapist will coordinate with schools to understand the needs of students and families, the schools’ systems and resources for supporting students, and the barriers to behavioral health care that this position can support. When appropriate, the therapist may provide outpatient individual therapy to children and youth directly. The clinician’s primary responsibilities are to assess a student’s needs, support the student and family in getting connected to appropriate services, and follow-up to ensure that services were received. The overall goal of the program is to establish collaborative and responsive relationships between schools, families, and community providers that promote coordination of care.
Brown University Health employees are expected to successfully role model the organization's values of Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence as these values guide our everyday actions with patients, customers and one another.
