Job summary

Mentor Community Services, a part of Sevita, provides community-based services for individuals with developmental disabilities. This Early Intervention Specialist - Therapeutic role is based in Trona and starts as part-time (20–25 hours/week) with potential to grow to full-time depending on caseload.

You will plan and deliver weekly services, work 1-on-1 in schools on developmental goals, document assessments, and coach families with activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in psychology, sociology, human development or related field is required.
• Experience working with infants or young children and their parents/guardians preferred.
• ABA and/or behavior management training is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and provide weekly early intervention services for a caseload of school-age children/adolescents with developmental disabilities.
• Work 1-on-1 in a school setting to address specific behavioral or developmental goals.
• Administer and document program assessments and updates to meet timelines.
• Design, implement and adapt activities for language, cognitive, gross/fine motor, sensory, self-help, and social-emotional development.
• Model positive adult-child interactions and provide parents with written weekly activities and coaching info.
• Monitor, document and share the child’s progress with family and team.
