Job summary

Onward Education is seeking a dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support students in a school-based setting in Dane County, Wisconsin. The COTA will work under the supervision of a Registered Occupational Therapist (OTR) to help students develop sensory, motor, social, executive functioning, and self-regulation skills.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work with students, families and staff.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide OT services under supervision of an OTR.
• Support sensory strategies, executive functioning, social skills, and motor development.
• Assist with implementing IEP goals and treatment plans.
• Maintain treatment records and progress notes.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and school staff.
• Provide classroom intervention strategies and staff training as needed.
• Support and troubleshoot assistive technology and adaptive equipment.
• Implement student-specific plans for regulation and social skills.
