Job summary

New Bedford Public Schools PRAB - Student Services in New Bedford, MA is hiring a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)/Para Educator. You will provide nurturing support to students, assist with personal care, and work under the supervision of the building administrator to support inclusion and student achievement.

Responsibilities include assisting with toileting, feeding, lifting, reviewing IEPs as needed, and coordinating transitions.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts CNA license required.
• Minimum 48 college credits or Para Pro test completed.
• Experience with children in educational settings preferred.
• Experience with students needing Special Education services strongly preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist with transfers.
• Commitment to inclusion and student confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care assistance including toileting, feeding, and lifting.
• Review student IEPs as needed to ensure needs are understood.
• Support students' growth and achievement under admin guidance.
• Assist with transitions during arrivals, dismissal, and class changes.
• Complete reports and logs related to services provided.
• Maintain respect, dignity, and privacy for students.
• Perform other duties as directed by Administration.
