Job summary

Devereux Pennsylvania is seeking a School Based Clinician to support students’ mental health within school settings. This part-time role offers up to 3 days per week and hourly pay between $25 and $28, depending on experience and licensure.

You will provide individual and group counseling, train parents and school staff, and participate in crisis intervention and prevention strategies within districts served by Devereux Pennsylvania’s School-Based Mental Health Services.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, MFT or related Human Services discipline.
  • Clinical licensure preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of paid mental health experience required.
  • Current and valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and group counseling to students based on referrals.
  • Train and provide information sessions for parents, school staff, and other stakeholders on mental health awareness and risk factors.
  • Facilitate/co-facilitate groups within schools and community using evidence-based curriculums.

Devereux Pennsylvania’s School‑based Mental Health Services provides resources, education and support to children – and their families – who are living with emotional, behavioral and cognitive differences. Our School‑Based Clinicians respond to the mental health needs of students within a school district, as identified by district personnel.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and group counseling to students based on referral from school district staff.
  • Train and provide information sessions for parents, school staff, and other stakeholders on mental health awareness and risk factors.
  • Facilitate/co‑facilitate groups within the schools as well as in the community as needed utilizing evidence based curriculums.
  • Assist with crisis intervention to include initiatives around school based mental health and prevention strategies.
  • Develop strong working relationships with schools through respectful communication and accountability.
Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy or other related Human Services discipline.
  • Clinical licensure preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of verified paid experience providing mental health treatment required.
  • Current and valid driver’s license required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Significant amounts of walking, sitting, and standing. Some lifting and/or managing resistance required related to applying physical intervention techniques – upwards of 75 – 100 lbs. or more. Some repetitive wrist/hand movements, normal hearing and vision. Occasional use of computers and office equipment. Occasional driving of Devereux vehicles for business purposes. Ability to meet 100% mastery of Safe and Positive Approaches (S&PA) techniques.
