Job summary

The Stepping Stones Group is seeking an American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter to join our full-time school-based team in Covington, GA. You will provide interpretation for Deaf or Hard of Hearing students, collaborating with teachers and staff to ensure meaningful participation in classroom instruction and school activities.

Qualifications

• Fluency in ASL and English.
• Educational Interpreter certification or Georgia credentials per regulations.
• Experience in educational settings preferred.
• Experience with children and adolescents preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide sign language interpretation for Deaf or Hard of Hearing students during classroom instruction and school activities.
• Facilitate communication between students, teachers, staff, peers, and families as appropriate.
• Interpret lectures, discussions, assemblies, meetings, and extracurricular activities.
• Support students' access to academic content while promoting independence and self-advocacy.
• Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and related service providers.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation as required.
• Adhere to professional ethics, confidentiality standards, and district policies.
• Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities as needed.
