Job summary

Rio Grande City School District in Rio Grande City, Texas, seeks a Certified Athletic Trainer to plan, coordinate, and supervise all components of the athletic training program for student athletes. Qualifications

• Certification as Athletic Trainer (Licennse/Certificate)
• CPR and AED certification required
• 3 years experience as athletic trainer preferred
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning physical conditioning for student athletes.
• Attend practice sessions and prepare athletes with protective techniques.
• Detect risks and determine participation in events.
• Develop procedures for medical emergencies.
• Provide health care information and counsel on athletic training topics.
• Maintain communication with students, parents, medical staff, coaches, and staff.
• Plan and implement rehab and reconditioning programs.
• Evaluate rehabilitation progress and determine progression to practice/competition.
• Follow ethical and legal parameters in drug use and therapy for athletes.
• Train and supervise student assistants.
• Maintain medical and treatment records and inventory of supplies.
• Adhere to district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
• Note: on-site work is essential.
