Job summary

The Arc Erie County New York is seeking a School Principal for the School Age Program in Cheektowaga, NY. You will lead a multidisciplinary team, set the tone for the building, and guide educational and therapeutic services for students with developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities include overseeing programs, staff, budgeting and regulatory compliance, while fostering strong relationships with families and school districts to ensure individualized supports.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in special education required.
• 6 years of educational experience with children with developmental disabilities.
• 5 years of supervisory experience.
• At least 2 years as an Assistant/ Vice Principal or Principal.
• NYS Permanent or Professional Teaching Certification.
• NYS SAS, SDA, SBL or SDL certification.
• Knowledge of CPSE/CSE operations and special education regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop school leaders, teachers and staff while shaping a strong school culture.
• Oversee educational programming, student services and professional development.
• Ensure high‑quality, individualized services and strong family/district partnerships.
• Provide oversight of staffing, budgeting, safety, compliance and operations.
• Collaborate with agency leadership and community partners to strengthen services.
