Job summary

Magical Beginnings is seeking a School Age Group Leader at our Grafton location to supervise the afternoon program for school-age children. You will create a safe, inclusive classroom and guide activities including arts, crafts, STEM, outdoor play, and group projects.

The role requires 18+ with 6 months in education, and a certification like EEC Preschool Teacher or CDA, or equivalent experience. Responsibilities include homework support, teamwork, and strong communication with families.

Qualifications

• 18 years or older with a minimum of 6 months experience in education
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs
• Availability Monday–Friday with afternoons until 5:00 pm
• Experience in center-based or private school settings preferred

What We're Looking For

• 18 years or older with a minimum of 6 months experience in education required
• EEC Preschool Teacher Certification, CDA, or equivalent degree and experience preferred
• Daycare experience in a center-based or private school setting preferred
• An engaging and energetic demeanor and a love for helping young children meet and exceed their developmental goals

A Few Requirements

• Availability to work Monday through Friday with flexibility to work afternoons until 5:00 pm
• Ability to spend extended periods of time on the floor with the children
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs
• Ability to stand up to 90% of the workday
• Attentiveness, strong time management, and a team-focused mindset

• Encourage cooperation, independence, problem-solving, and positive social interactions
• Maintain consistent routines, expectations, and classroom structure
• Use positive guidance and age-appropriate behavior management strategies
• Supervise children closely and maintain active awareness of their safety and well-being
• Communicate effectively with families and members of the teaching team
• Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting classroom environment
• Follow all health, safety, licensing, and center policies and procedures
• Work collaboratively with the leadership team and other educators to provide a high-quality experience for every child
