Job summary

ISD 728 Community Education is hiring a Child Care Worker for multiple shifts across elementary schools and preschool programs. The role involves supervising children, guiding activities, and maintaining a safe, engaging environment.

The position supports children from infant to about 12 years old, with duties including setup, cleanup, and collaboration with staff. Starting pay is $18.04 per hour, with a commitment to equity and safety.

Qualifications

• Experience with child development and activities is desirable.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Current First Aid/CPR certification required.
• Flexibility to sub for other shifts is needed.

Responsibilities

• Work with grades K-5 and/or preschool children in Community Education programs.
• Have age appropriate materials and activities available for those enrolled; range infant to about age 12.
• Interact with the children and provide positive behavior reinforcement and guidance.
• Maintain rooms, supplies and equipment, including cleaning.
• Work as part of a team with staff or volunteers to maintain a positive environment.
• Communicate with Program Manager and staff regarding daily schedule, duties, and attendance.
• Attend required District training in Bloodborne Pathogens and staff meetings.
• Maintain current First Aid and CPR certification.
• Other duties as assigned.
