Job summary

Hamilton County Schools is seeking staff for the School Age Child Care (SACC) program in Chattanooga, TN. The role provides supervised care before school, after school, summer sessions, and other scheduled times within a safe, nurturing environment.

Responsibilities include enforcing safety, coordinating activities, and maintaining documentation. Requires high school diploma or GED and CPR/First Aid certification; prior childcare experience is preferred. Must be 18+ with reliable attendance.

Qualifications

• Must have or obtain CPR and First Aid Certification.
• Experience in child care or early childhood education preferred; or any equivalent education/training.
• Must be 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Acts professionally, respectfully, and caring at all times.
• Provides supervised care and a safe, nurturing environment for children.
• Monitors safety and adheres to district, state, and federal rules and procedures.
• Plans and conducts indoor/outdoor activities appropriate for each age group.
• Communicates with supervisor and appropriate personnel about issues.
• Responds to emergencies; provides basic first aid and notifies parents as needed.
• Maintains confidentiality and follows opening/closing procedures.
• Travels to other school locations as directed to support the program.
