Scheduling Director – Data Center Campus Construction Program

Position Overview
We are seeking a Director of Scheduling with at least 10 years of experience to lead the full scheduling function across a rapidly expanding multi‑data center campus construction program. This role oversees schedule governance, develops program‑level scheduling strategies, and ensures integration across design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and turnover. The Scheduling Director will serve as the senior advisor to executive leadership, driving transparency, accuracy, and predictability for a multi‑billion‑dollar mission‑critical portfolio. This is a strategic and highly influential position for a proven leader who understands the pace, complexity, and rigor required to deliver Tier III/IV data centers.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage the Campus Master Schedule (CMS), integrating data halls, CUPS, substations, site utilities, off‑site utility upgrades, procurement, installation, commissioning, and turnover sequencing.
- WBS/coding structures
- Calendars and activity templates
- Reporting formats and KPIs
- Progress measurement and productivity tracking
- Change control and contingency drawdown
- Ensure consistency and scheduling discipline across all GC schedules, vendor schedules, commissioning plans, and long‑lead procurement timelines.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and mentor a distributed team of schedulers supporting multiple concurrent projects.
- Develop training materials and skill‑building programs to elevate schedule understanding across engineering, construction, and commissioning teams.
- Conduct recurring quality reviews, CPM diagnostics, and risk assessments to maintain schedule integrity across the entire program.
- Ensure each project schedule meets program standards for logic quality, accuracy, cost‑load alignment, and critical path realism.
- Work with schedulers and field teams to elevate schedule literacy across the organization.
Planning & Execution Support
- Facilitate schedule coordination meetings with design, procurement, operations, commissioning, and trade partners.
- Lead schedule alignment workshops during preconstruction, weekly production planning, commissioning integration, and recovery planning.
- Oversee near‑term lookahead planning, critical path identification, and early‑warning indicators.
- Facilitate phase‑gate planning sessions, pull planning, commissioning integration workshops, and recovery plan development for at‑risk milestones.
- Perform deep‑Dive critical path analysis, resource leveling review, and variance analysis.
- Partner with procurement, design management, construction operations, and commissioning leads to integrate evolving scope and sequence into the schedule in real time.
- Track all long‑lead equipment, FAT/SAT dates, utility availability, energization milestones, and MEP system turnover requirements.
- Lead schedule risk assessments, scenario modeling, and what‑if simulations to forecast program impacts.
- Perform what‑if analysis, delay impact modeling, and data‑driven recovery recommendations.
- Highlight systemic issues, sequence risks, and opportunities to optimize flow across the program.
Analytics, Reporting & Decision Support
- Produce executive‑level dashboards, KPIs, and narrative reports communicating schedule health, risks, and required actions.
- Develop executive‑ready dashboards, summary reports, scenario models, and risk‑adjusted forecasts.
Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary schedule liaison to Owner executives, GC teams, trade partners, commissioning agents, and third‑party consultants.
- Lead collaborative schedule reviews, alignment meetings, and executive briefings.
- Support claims prevention, delay assessment, and forensic analysis when required.
Qualifications
- 10–15+ years of progressive scheduling experience on large, complex capital programs.
- Expertise in mission‑critical, hyperscale data centers, or high‑tech manufacturing preferred.
- Mastery of Primavera P6, CPM methodology, schedule risk tools (Acumen, Safran, etc.), and advanced reporting platforms (Power BI/Tableau).
- Deep understanding of construction sequencing, MEP systems, commissioning, and owner‑vendor integration workflows.
- Experience directing teams of schedulers across multi‑site or multi‑phase programs.
- Strong communication skills with the confidence to present to executives and influence cross‑functional teams.
- Ability to simplify complexity and drive accountable outcomes in fast‑moving environments.
- Strong communication, time management, and analytical skills.
- PMP or PSP certification (preferred).
