Job Description: Scheduling Coordinator - Specialty Clinic

Position Summary

The Scheduling Coordinator - Specialty Clinic is responsible for coordinating the provider's surgery and clinic schedules. This clerical position serves as the first point of contact for hospitals and surgery centers, managing the scheduling of operative procedures. The role requires teamwork within the clinic.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the scheduling of surgical procedures accurately, recognizing the importance and relationship to patient care.
  • Verify insurance benefits for surgical cases.
  • Obtain insurance pre-certification and authorization for surgical cases.
  • Coordinate and schedule patient pre-op, pre-admit, and post-op appointments.
  • Schedule all meetings for the provider, including attorney and vendor meetings.
  • Maintain and adjust the provider's clinic schedule to accommodate surgical cases, CME, vacations, court appearances, attorney depositions, and other meetings, using Epic and MS Outlook.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of clerical experience in a medical environment.
