Job summary

Entergy is seeking a Scheduler to develop and maintain detailed project schedules for nuclear power plant operations, including outages and testing cycles. The role requires coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams, performing critical path analyses, and presenting technical information in written and verbal form.

Minimum BS in engineering or related field with 0–4+ years of nuclear scheduling experience.

Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering or related field; nuclear power plant operations knowledge preferred.
  • 0–2 years for Scheduler I; 2+ years for Scheduler II; 4+ years for Scheduler Sr in nuclear power.
  • Technical understanding of nuclear generation principles and operations.
  • Excellent communication and conflict management abilities.
  • Proficiency with current computer business applications; Primavera 6 experience desirable.

JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE:

Develops detailed schedules for project specific tasks assigned within the department. Coordinates and represents department in project and scheduling meetings.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develops and maintains the detailed work schedule for on line project specific controls assignments as well as planned and forced outage schedules.
  • Develops and maintains detailed testing and retest schedules and maintains resource loading profiles.
  • Interfaces with work group representatives to level resources using selected profiles.
  • Reviews specific scope of work orders and makes recommendations for scheduling.
  • Develops 'what if' schedules and performs analysis with working groups to determine the most effective method of scheduling the work.
  • Identifies support activities and adds these activities to the schedule.
  • Updates work management and scheduling software programs.
  • Provides reports to define work scope.
  • Coordinates with various plant departments to develop integrated, executable, and realistic schedules.
  • Updates progress on schedules during execution.
  • Conducts critical path analysis for project schedules.
  • Assists with development of post work critiques.
  • Facilitates the interface between multiple work groups.
  • Identifies deficiencies, analyzes alternatives and recommends solutions to schedule conflicts.
  • Recommends changes to existing methods, procedures and processes to improve overall outage activities.
  • Communicates/presents technical information, concepts and ideas both verbally and in writing.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum education required of the position: B.S. Degree in Engineering or other scientific discipline generally associated with power plant operations or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum experience required of the position: Scheduler I: 0 to 2 years of nuclear power plant experience. Scheduler II: 2+ years of nuclear power plant experience. Scheduler, Sr: At least 4 years of nuclear power plant experience.
  • Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position: Technical understanding of nuclear generation principles and operations.
  • Desired: Outstanding communication and conflict management skills.
  • Proficiency with current computer business applications.
  • Desired: Pimavera 6 experience
