Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream, Inc. is seeking an Operational Buyer to translate production plans into supplier orders for raw and packaging materials.

This on-site role supports the Laurel, MD site and collaborates with planning, production, QA and logistics teams to ensure materials are available when needed. Strong Excel, supplier management and order-to-payment capabilities are essential, with FMCG experience valued.

Responsibilities

• Operate between Bakersfield and Laurel to support production planning.
• Monitor demand and supply signals; manage lead times and quantities; create purchase orders.
• Ensure materials are available for production dates; adjust delivery schedules with planning team.
• Provide forecast/POs to suppliers for 3–12 months ahead.
• Maintain stock levels and monitor daily/weekly reports for discrepancies.
• Liaise with warehouse, production, QA on material changes.

Main Purpose of the job:

Operational Buyer is a staff position responsible to fulfill the requirements of the production plans within the agreed cost and transforming all the Raw and Pack materials requirements into orders based on existing contract between the company and the supplier. His scopeis coveringthedirectmaterialsincluding the related service. At the same time doing all the needed communication follow up and suppliers service reporting.

Role and activity

• The position is necessary to operate between Bakersfield and Laurel.
• Monitor supply signals through the demand & supply view ensuring delivery dates, lead times andrequiredquantities are correct and finally creating purchase orders ensuring their fulfillment by the supplier.
• Ensuring that manufacturing requirements are available at theproduction date.
• Daily Review tomonitordaily performance and take any necessary action to adjust the delivery scheduleaccordingly and discusswith planning team any material supply issue.
• Provide forecast/PO’ to the suppliers reflecting the future requirements 3-12 months.
• Controlthematerial stock cover based onthe agreed target level/Production cover.
• Run the un-receipt orders report on Daily / Weekly basis and take the necessary action on the spot.
• Manage directly with the definedsupplierthe delivery of materials: this includes creating, sending, confirming, receiving, investigating errors and discrepanciesinblocked or parked invoice.
• Build, maintain and manage supplier relationships and keep up good communications.
• Represent TheFroneriWay of working through the behaviors and characteristics in our Operating Model and Core Values
• Control out of stock materials through the Daily / Weekly issue monitoring report.
• Highlighting any Increase/Decrease in deicymand and the impact on the materials.
• Communicate withWarehouse,Production,QAanynew /changes inyour materials.
• Monitorshelf-lifeexpirationfor all materials and discuss the results with the planning,R&D,QA& productionteam to avoid anyexpirationthat might occur.
• Compiling KPI reports
• Complete temper/thaw process for materials
• Adhering to FRONERI procedures and standards.

• Update the planning parameterson the system for materialswhenit is needed.

The pay scale for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The pay range for prospective employees in this role is between $88,000 to $96,000 per year, with opportunities for overtime, shift differential, cold premium pay and annual bonuses (variable depending on company performance).
