First Point Group seeks an entry-level Project Controls Planner to support scheduling on a major semiconductor project in Chandler, AZ. You will contribute to planning and scheduling activities under guidance, gaining exposure to EPC workflows and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities include developing and updating schedules in Primavera P6, coordinating with engineering, procurement, and construction teams, and preparing progress reports.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 1–2 years of relevant experience, or 5–6 years in related roles.
• Experience or exposure to industrial or technology projects preferred (data centers, semiconductor facilities).
• Experience in project planning, scheduling, or project controls is a plus.

• Monitor and update schedule progress based on team input.
• Identify potential variances and data issues; escalate to senior staff as needed.
• Support short-term lookahead schedules and rolling lookaheads.
• Prepare routine schedule reports, progress summaries, and status updates.
• Perform schedule quality checks for accuracy and consistency.
• Participate in schedule review meetings and document actions.
• Develop understanding of project controls procedures and EPC workflows.

Job Title: Project Controls Planner

Great opportunity for a Planner / Scheduler to join a major semiconductor project in Chandler, AZ!

Pay Rate: $38.00-$49.75/hr

Duration: 12 months (contract to perm)

Position Overview:

We are currently staffing for an entry level Planner/Scheduler to support planning and scheduling efforts for a hyper-scale Semiconductor project.

Job Summary

This entry-level position supports project planning, scheduling, and project controls activities while building foundational knowledge of schedule development, analysis, and reporting. Working under the direction of experienced planners and schedulers, the individual will gain exposure to engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) workflows and assist in developing, updating, and maintaining accurate project schedules to support effective project execution.

Major Responsibilities

• Assist in developing, updating, and maintaining project schedules using Primavera P6 or equivalent scheduling software.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to collect project scope details, activity information, and schedule logic.
• Support the entry, review, and maintenance of schedule activities, durations, dependencies, and logic relationships.
• Assist with incorporating subcontractor and vendor schedules into the overall project schedule.
• Monitor and update schedule progress based on information provided by project team members.
• Help identify potential schedule variances, delays, and data inconsistencies, escalating concerns to senior team members as appropriate.
• Support the preparation and maintenance of short-term lookahead schedules, including three-week and rolling lookahead plans.
• Assist in preparing routine schedule reports, progress summaries, and project status updates.
• Perform schedule quality checks to help ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
• Participate in schedule review meetings and assist with documenting discussions, decisions, and follow-up action items.
• Develop an understanding of project controls procedures, scheduling best practices, and EPC project execution processes.

Education and Experience Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent educational background, with 1–2 years of relevant experience, or 5–6 years of applicable work experience.
• Experience or exposure to industrial or technology-related projects, preferably in data centers, semiconductor fabrication facilities, or other technology-focused environments.
• Relevant internship, academic project, or professional experience in project planning, scheduling, or project controls is preferred.

Required Knowledge and Skills

• Basic understanding of project planning and scheduling principles, with a strong willingness to learn and develop technical expertise.
• Familiarity with Primavera P6 or comparable scheduling software is preferred.
• Basic analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate, reliable project data.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Willingness to learn EPC project workflows, including engineering, procurement, construction, and startup activities.
• Ability to follow established procedures, work under guidance, manage assigned responsibilities, and adapt to changing project priorities.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced project environment.
