Job summary

OXEA is seeking a Maintenance Scheduler to develop and maintain the site maintenance schedule, ensuring priority work is executed safely and efficiently. The role partners with Operations, Maintenance, and Contractors to optimize resources and keep asset reliability on track.

Responsibilities include coordinating weekly scheduling reviews, maintaining records, and supporting performance dashboards. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years in scheduling in an industrial setting and experience

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of maintenance scheduling, planning, or related industrial experience.
  • Experience with CMMS systems (SAP PM) preferred and strong MS Office skills.

Job description

Job Purpose

Develop, coordinate, and maintain the site maintenance schedule to ensure maintenance activities are prioritized, resource loaded, and executable in support of safe, reliable, environmentally compliant, and cost-effective plant operations. The Scheduler serves as a key participant in the Maintenance Work Process, partnering closely with Production, Maintenance, Laboratory, Procurement, Technical Services, Reliability, Contractors, and other site functions to optimize workforce utilization, improve schedule compliance, manage backlog health, and support asset reliability objectives. The Scheduler is responsible for facilitating the weekly scheduling process and ensuring maintenance work is aligned with site priorities, equipment availability, and resource capacity.

Main Tasks And Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and own the daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance schedules to ensure safe, efficient, and executable maintenance work execution aligned with site priorities.
  • Ensure maintenance schedules are fully resource-loaded and balanced across all craft disciplines, supporting optimal workforce utilization and schedule adherence.
  • Coordinate and communicate schedule changes, constraints, and updates across Operations, Maintenance, Technical Services, and Contractor organizations to maintain schedule integrity.
  • Partner with the Maintenance Gatekeeper, Planners, and Technical Teams to ensure work is properly prioritized, fully prepared, and ready for execution, including compliance, corrective maintenance, and small capital or improvement work.
  • Maintain weekly and monthly scheduling records and support maintenance performance reporting, including backlog, schedule compliance, delays, and barrier codes, ensuring accurate scorecard metrics, dashboards, and graphical reporting as required.
  • Provide schedule visibility to maintenance leadership and stakeholders as required to support planning, forecasting, and operational decision-making.
  • Monitor schedule execution performance and support maintenance work process reporting, including schedule compliance, backlog health, and schedule adherence metrics.
  • Incorporate preventive maintenance, compliance-driven, and critical safety/environmental work into the schedule to ensure regulatory and asset integrity requirements are met.
  • Incorporate critical Safety/Environmental work into the weekly schedule to reduce the amount of M4's onsite.
  • Facilitate the weekly Operations and Maintenance scheduling review meeting to establish equipment availability, resolve constraints, align priorities, and confirm an executable weekly schedule.
  • Maintain an accurate view of unplanned, unscheduled, and deferred work and coordinate with stakeholders to drive prioritization into future schedules.
  • Maintain maintenance work management system data integrity, ensuring accurate and timely updates of work order status, execution progress, and scheduling impacts, including related logs and reporting tools, to support effective maintenance planning, performance tracking, and decision-making.

Key Interactions
Internal
  • Collaborate closely with Operations, Maintenance, Technical Services, Procurement, Warehouse, Laboratory, and Site Leadership Team to develop and maintain executable maintenance schedules aligned with site priorities, resource availability, and asset availability for maintenance execution.
  • Partner with the Maintenance Gatekeeper, Planners, Supervisors, and Technical Teams to ensure work is appropriately prioritized, planned, and scheduled in accordance with the Maintenance Work Process.
External
  • Coordinate with contractors, service providers, and suppliers to align labor resources, equipment availability, and maintenance activities with the approved maintenance schedule.
Notable Working Conditions
  • Primarily office based with regular field presence in an operating chemical manufacturing facility.
  • Position requires routine interaction with maintenance, operations, and technical personnel in production units to validate work scope, equipment availability, schedule readiness, and execution progress.
  • Frequent exposure to industrial environments, including varying weather conditions, elevated noise levels, moving equipment, and process areas requiring the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Occasional extended hours may be required to support outages, turnarounds, emergency work, or critical maintenance activities.
Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of Maintenance scheduling, planning, maintenance, operations, reliability, or related industrial experience.
Preferred
  • Experience with SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) or similar CMMS systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, Project, and related scheduling/reporting tools).
  • Experience in a chemical, petrochemical, refining, or industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of maintenance performance metrics such as schedule compliance, backlog health, and work execution reporting.

  • Results orientated, self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as lead / participate in teams.
  • Strong understanding of maintenance work management processes, including prioritization, scheduling, and execution coordination.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to coordinate across Operations, Maintenance, Technical Services and Contractors.
  • Ability to facilitate and lead scheduling meetings, clearly communicate schedule changes, constraints, and execution priorities.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic operational environment.
