Job summary

Tecolote Research, a trusted independent advisor serving the National Security mission, seeks an Analyst to support large-scale DoD acquisition programs. You will be the go-to person in support of program schedules and risk assessments.

Daily responsibilities include schedule risk analysis, progress evaluation, and preparing reports for government personnel and prime contractors, leveraging MS Project, MS Office, and Power BI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in math, engineering, business, or sciences.
• 8 years DoD schedule management experience preferred.
• Strong MS Project and MS Office proficiency (Excel/Word/PowerPoint).
• Experience with space programs and government programs desired.
• Security clearance considerations; TS eligibility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performing schedule risk assessments and analyses.
• Evaluating actual vs baseline duration and schedule progress.
• Reviewing contractor reports and producing summaries.
• Conducting critical path analysis and schedule robustness reviews.
• Developing program roadmaps from MS Project schedules.

Responsibilities

Duties will include:

• Performing schedule risk assessments
• Analysis of actual versus baseline and estimated duration
• Evaluation of schedule progress against the plan
• Evaluation of the contractor’s written reports
• Critical path analysis.

Work may also include:

• Substantiation of confidence level generation
• Schedule/prediction analysis
• Performance measurement (earned value) and project forecasting.
• Developing and maintaining of program roadmaps built from the MS Project Schedules is also a requirement for this position.
• This position will have daily interface with government personnel and prime contractors.

Skills Required

• The ideal candidate will have 8 years of DoD schedule management experience.
• The position requires an organized, detailed-oriented individual with strong customer-oriented communication skills and a minimum eight years proficiency in Microsoft Project, MS Office Suite (e.g. Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), and 5 years of experience with duties/assignments specifically in support of space programs.
• Familiarity with other schedule and analysis tools (i.e., Milestones Professional, SSI Tools, Power BI) and Government programs is desired.
• Successful candidates will be proficient in performing program system level schedule analyses and oversight; generating schedule assessments; and preparing reports/presentations.
• A working knowledge of Department of Defense acquisition project scheduling, schedule management, scheduling, and earned value management guidelines are required.
• Reviewing Integrated Master Schedules and helping identify opportunities for condensing and/or simplification of schedule detail.
• Identifying methods for creation/development of a critical path.
• Helping generate summary views for presentation.
• Identifying opportunities and/or making suggestions for ways to de-conflict test schedules.
• Helping identify additional opportunities for analysis to demonstrate schedule robustness.
• Providing input into methods for effective incorporation of risks into a schedule.
• Experience with Senior Leader engagement and large scale program integration.
• Must have Secret security clearance and TS eligible is required

Education

• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in math, engineering, business, or the sciences.
