Metropolitan State University of Denver in Denver seeks a skilled craftsperson to construct, install and maintain scenic elements for theatrical productions. This role involves carpentry, rigging, and supervising student crews under the Scene Shop Manager and Technical Director.
The position is 9 months, 19 hours per week with possible up to 40 hours based on shop needs; $22 per hour; temporary, non-benefits-eligible and enrollment in PERA retirement is required.
A skilled craftsperson responsible for constructing, assembling and installing scenic elements for theatrical production utilizing various materials and techniques to ensure quality and safety. They are involved in the installation, rigging and strike of these elements. The position assists in the supervision of student crews and workers and may assist other production areas as needed. They report to the Scene Shop Manager and the Technical Director.
$22.00 per hour.
9-month employment with potential to renew for following academic year.
Work will be consistent 19 hours per week with occasional potential for up to 40 hours per week based on shop needs and manager approval.
This position is a Temporary position that is not benefits-eligible and requires enrollment in a PERA retirement account.
