Job summary

Magic Springs Theme & Water Park in Hot Springs, AR is seeking a Scare Actor for a seasonal evenings role, starting at $11.00/hour, with weekends required from Sept 26 through Oct 31. You will bring fright to life, master your character, work with effects, and deliver high-energy performances while prioritizing guest safety.

Outdoor work in varying weather, full makeup/prosthetics, and costume wear are required.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Weekend evenings available Sept 26 through Oct 31.
• Must be comfortable with full makeup and/or prosthetics.
• Must wear a full costume for the entire shift.
• Must be comfortable outdoors in varying weather and in dark, loud, fog-filled attractions.

Responsibilities

• Portray assigned character consistently and convincingly during scheduled shifts.
• Interact with guests using approved scare techniques while maintaining safety.
• Follow event plans, guidelines, and supervisor directions.
• Operate or interact with props and other scenic elements as instructed.
• Maintain costumes, makeup and equipment; report issues to supervisor.
• Monitor guest reactions and adjust performance to ensure enjoyment.

Position Type: Seasonal | Pay: Starting at $11.00/hour

Weekends-Only Position Starting Saturday, 9/26!

Step into the shadows and become part of the fright! As a Scare Actor, you’ll bring Magic Screams to life (…or back from the dead) by immersing guests in spine-tingling encounters they’ll never forget. You’ll master your character’s story, work with chilling special effects, and deliver consistent, high-energy performances - all while keeping safety and guest enjoyment as your top priorities. If you love Halloween, performing, and giving people goosebumps, this is the role for you!

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Portray assigned character(s) consistently and convincingly throughout the entirety of scheduled shifts.
• Interact with guests using approved scare techniques while maintaining a safe environment for guests and other team members.
• Follow event plans, guidelines, and supervisor directions at all times.
• Operate or interact with props and other scenic elements as instructed.
• Maintain assigned costume(s), makeup, and other equipment – Reporting issues to the zone supervisor.
• Monitor guest reactions and adjust performance to ensure an enjoyable experience.

PREFERRED SKILLS, REQUIREMENTS, AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must be able to work weekends from September 26th through October 31st in the evenings.
• Must be okay with having a full face of makeup and/or prosthetics applied daily.
• Must be able to wear a costume for the entirety of a shift.
• Must be comfortable working in dark, loud, fog-filled haunted attractions.
• Must be comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.

Preferred:

• Acting, theater, or improv experience.
• Prior haunted attraction experience.
• Outgoing, guest-satisfaction mindset.

• Must be able to walk, stand, and perform for up to eight hours a shift.
• Requires occasional kneeling and bending.
• Requires occasional reaching above shoulder, pushing and pulling.

• Requires occasional carrying of up to 100 pounds with the assistance of a two-wheel hand truck.
