Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a Truck Scale Operator to scale trucks entering landfills or transfer stations and deliver courteous service to customers.

Responsibilities include weighing trucks, issuing permits, and providing billing information and reports. Daily scale testing and compliance tasks ensure accurate disposal and payment processes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1–3 months related experience and/or training.
• Experience with customer service preferred.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
• One to three months related experience and/or training.
• Experience with customer service preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Physical/Mental Demands

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers, reach, talk, and hear.
• Visual Requirements: include close vision and distance vision.
• Possess ability to occasionally lift/move up to 10 pounds.

Working Conditions

• Frequently exposed to outside weather conditions.
• Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes and airborne particles.
• Noise level is moderate to loud.
