Responsibilities

  • Scale inbound loads (dumping or parking on Dolly Pad).
  • Probe, test and scale loads; retain samples and document results.
  • Scale outbound loads; verify product, quantity, and destination.
  • Obtain samples, run micro tests, and check COA or barcode per customer requirements.
  • Monitor production flow and ensure no spills; troubleshoot as needed.
  • Sweep and manage paperwork for scales and processes.
  • Maintain housekeeping and safety around the facility.
  • Coordinate with maintenance and supervisors on issues and breakdowns.

Purpose Of Position

Responsible for receiving, loading and milling product to meet Anchor Ingredients high quality standards, while ensuring the day-to-day production needs are met with minimal down time and maximum efficiency.

Scale House Operator Afternoon

Purpose Of Position

Responsible for receiving, loading and milling product to meet Anchor Ingredients high quality standards, while ensuring the day-to-day production needs are met with minimal down time and maximum efficiency.

Responsibilities

Scaling Trucks

  • All inbound loads (dumping or parking on Dolly Pad - DP)
  • Probe, test and scale all loads parked on Dolly Pad - DP
  • Retain product samples on all loads – Properly mark retain sample bag
  • Sweep scale by unloading pit after each load
  • Enter test results in BCFoods
  • All outbound loads (live or preloaded)
  • Scale, ensure correct product, quantity and destination
  • Obtain sample, micro test and run on NIR, ensure COA and/or barcode if needed per customer requirements
  • Scale out and get all paperwork completed and posted in a timely manner

Production

  • Check incoming belt throughout the day
  • Make sure flow is sufficient to maximize cimbria needs
  • Ensure product is not spilling by hole or running over belt into the leg pit
  • Blow out screens on destoner every 2 hours
  • Check hullers amperage and visual product quality every 2 hours
  • If product is accumulating on the floor or elsewhere troubleshoot to figure out why
  • Monitor baghouse reading throughout the day
  • Monitor hulls bin volume throughout the day
  • Walk around both dirty and clean bins to see if there are any problems developing
  • Check cimbria, destoner, hullers, roller mill and all other parts of production at least once per shift
  • Other Duties: mow lawn, shovel snow, move trailers, change screens and set up grinder, extra clean up and any other tasks that need to be completed around the facility as assigned

Housekeeping

  • Clean up any mess before going home for the day ensuring no personal belongings or garbage is left at workstations or other shared common areas
  • Sweep around the pit between loads and the entire scale once per shift
  • Put tools back in their places after each use
  • Disconnect air hoses when they are not in use
  • Take trash to dumpster with it is full
  • Other Duties: mow lawn, shovel snow, move trailers, extra clean up and any other tasks that need to be completed around the facility as assigned

General

  • Trouble shoot and communicate breakdowns to our Maintenance team and Supervisor
  • Repair minor issues, etc. replace drive belts & patch holes where and when able
  • Utilize all members of the team to accomplish tasks, holding yourself and others accountable for duties performed. Ask for help when needed.
  • Prioritize employee and food safety first, facility production second and dumping and loading trucks as the third priority.

Qualifications

The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. All vision abilities are required to encompass close-up work. On occasion, employee must be able to tolerate and endure extended seasonal hours and maintain alertness to meet deadlines.
