Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company is seeking a skilled Scaffolding Journeyman to perform on-site erection and dismantling of scaffolding and rigging heavy equipment at our Texas plant. You will read blueprints, select tools, and ensure safe, compliant execution of all scaffold-related tasks.

Responsibilities include constructing scaffolds, installing ladders and walkways, rigging loads, and inspecting work for quality and safety.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and specifications to determine scope of work, locations, quantities, and sizes of materials.
• Identify tools required and measure, mark, and cut materials to specifications.
• Erect and disassemble scaffolding for buildings and structures and install ladders, rails, walkways, platforms, and gangways.
• Construct, reinforce, and dismantle pre-constructed scaffolds and auxiliary items.
• Perform scaffolding and rigging of equipment loads.
• Estimate sizes, distances, and quantities and determine time, costs, resources, or materials needed.
• Inspect subordinates' work for compliance and take corrective action as needed.

Primary Responsibilities And Duties

• Read blueprints and specification to determine the scope of work: locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required.
• Identify all tools required for tasks and measure, mark, and cut required wooden/metallic materials to required specifications.
• Erect and disassemble scaffolding for buildings and other structures and installs ladders, handrails, walkways, platforms, and gangways.
• Construct, re-enforce, and dismantle pre-constructed Scaffolds.
• Build and construct wooden Scaffolds and auxiliary items.
• Perform work involving rigging of equipment loads.
• Estimating sizes, distances, and quantities; or determining time, costs, resources, or materials needed to perform a work activity.
• Inspect subordinate's work for compliance with the contract plans and specifications, point out deficiencies and explain and take any corrective action needed.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Scaffolding Journeyman in a Power Plant / Industrial setting
• Must possess working knowledge skills and abilities for position.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools and layout tools safe and efficiently.

• Constantly works in a construction environment and will be exposed to changing outdoor weather conditions.
