Job summary

TIC Inc in Houston, TX is seeking an Intermediate-level scaffolding technician. You will read blueprints, determine scope and materials, and assemble/disassemble scaffold structures including ladders, rails, walkways, and platforms.

You will also construct scaffolds, reinforce and dismantle them, build wooden components, and perform rigging of equipment loads while adhering to safety guidelines and working outdoors in varied weather.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required with relevant field experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions and communicate with supervision.
• Must be able to use hand and power tools safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and specs to determine scope, quantities and sizes.
• Identify tools required and measure/cut materials to spec.
• Erect and disassemble scaffolding for buildings and other structures; install ladders, rails, walkways, platforms and gangways.
• Construct, reinforce, and dismantle pre-constructed scaffolds.
• Build wooden scaffolds and auxiliary items; perform rigging of equipment loads.

Perform work involving the erection and dismantling of scaffolding, operation of heavy equipment, rigging the equipment loads, and completion of various construction projects.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

• Read blueprints and specification to determine the scope of work: locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required.
• Identify all tools required for tasks and measure, mark, and cut required wooden/metallic materials to required specifications.
• Erect and disassemble scaffolding for buildings and other structures and installs ladders, handrails, walkways, platforms, and gangways.
• Construct, re-enforce, and dismantle pre-constructed Scaffolds.
• Build and construct wooden Scaffolds and auxiliary items.
• Perform work involving rigging of equipment loads.

Qualifications

• May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or in a related area.
• Must possess working knowledge skills and abilities for position.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools and layout tools safe and efficiently.

Requirements

• Able to meet all physical requirements.
• Must have all required tools
• Expected to climb and work at heights and in confined spaces (may exceed 200 ft)
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Able to work overtime, nights, and weekends as required by the workload
• Observe and comply with all safety and project rules. Performs other duties as required.
