Job summary

BrandSafway is seeking a dependable Scaffold Helper in Memphis to assist Scaffold Carpenters and Leadman with erection, modification, inspection, and dismantling of scaffold systems on industrial construction projects.

The ideal candidate learns quickly, works well in a team, and is committed to safety. Responsibilities include handling materials, transporting tools, maintaining inventory, and following OSHA regulations and site policies.

Qualifications

• Previous construction or industrial experience preferred but not required.
• Willingness to learn scaffold building techniques and safety procedures.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work.
• Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying weather conditions.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to job sites as needed.
• Background Check, Hair Follicle Drug Testing, TWIC Card and Basic Plus Safety Orientation preferred (as required by the project).

Responsibilities

• Assist Scaffold Carpenters and Scaffold Leadman with erection, modification, and dismantling of scaffold systems.
• Load, unload, transport, and organize scaffold materials, tools, and equipment.
• Hand materials and tools to scaffold builders during assembly and dismantling.
• Clean and prepare work areas to support scaffold construction activities.
• Inspect scaffold components for visible damage and report any defective materials.
• Maintain scaffold inventory and organize materials for efficient use.
• Follow directions from the Scaffold Leadman and Scaffold Carpenters to complete assigned tasks safely and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean and organized job site.
• Follow OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and customer requirements, including PPE use.
• Participate in daily safety meetings and report unsafe conditions or hazards immediately.
