Austin Industrial is seeking a Scaffold Builder Helper to assist scaffold builders in construction, assembly, maintenance, and dismantling of tubular scaffolding at our Houston, TX site. You will work on-site, at heights, and help transport materials as directed.

The role requires 6+ months in an industrial setting, a TWIC card, and a valid driver’s license. Expect a safety-focused environment with strict PPE compliance and site regulations.

Qualifications

  • Experience in an industrial setting preferred.
  • Must be able to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Scaffold Builders in construction, assembly, maintenance, and dismantling of tubular scaffolding or temporary structures.
  • Work at heights with no fear.
  • Transport tubular scaffold or structural material and erect scaffold as instructed by the scaffold builder.
  • Hoist scaffolding materials upward to erect temporary structures.
  • Secure and level locking sections of scaffolding; secure scaffold to permanent structures for stability.
  • Follow OSHA, site-specific and Austin Industrial requirements for erecting and navigating scaffolding.

This person will assist Scaffold Builders in the construction, assembly, maintenance, and dismantling oftubular scaffolding or other temporary structures.Other duties may be assigned.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work at heights with no fear.
  • Transports tubular scaffold or other structural material and erects the scaffold as instructed by the scaffold builder.
  • Hoists scaffolding materials upward in order to erect temporary structure.
  • Properly secures and levels locking sections of scaffolding material.
  • Properly secures scaffold to the permanent structure for added stability.
  • Adheres to all OSHA, site specific and Austin Industrial requirements for the erecting and navigation of the scaffolding.
  • Pass materials and tools to Journeyman as needed.
  • Dismantles scaffolding when it has been properly communicated to do so.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required for this Position:

Experience – 6+ months experience in an Industrial setting preferred.

Certification/License- A Valid TWIC Card and Driver’s License.

Employees must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and meet all customer, site, regulatory, medical, and fitness-for-duty requirements applicable to the position.

Must be able to perform all job duties while maintaining a constant commitment to safety, quality, and productivity expectations.
