Job summary

Austin Industrial is seeking a Scaffold Builder to construct, assemble, maintain, and dismantle tubular scaffolding. A minimum of 3 years in the scaffolding craft is required. The role emphasizes safety, inspection, and proper erection and dismantling of scaffolding.

Responsibilities

• Work at heights with safety in mind.
• Determine type of scaffold needed.

• Communicate safety hazards effectively.
• Transport and erect tubular scaffolding to required dimensions.
• Hoist materials to scaffold level and secure sections.
• Ensure scaffold is properly anchored to structure.
• Adhere to OSHA and project requirements during erection and navigation.
• Perform final inspection of scaffolding.
• Dismantle scaffolding when instructed and store materials properly.

Summary

Scaffold Builder

This person will construct, assemble, maintain, and dismantles tubular scaffolding or other temporary structures. This is accomplished by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities. A minimum of 3 years of experience is required within the Scaffolding craft. Other duties may be assigned.

Responsibilities

• Work at heights with no fear.
• Determines type of scaffold needed.
• Inspects job site and all scaffold material for defects and safety hazards.
• Effectively communicates safety hazards and mitigates avoidable hazards prior to construction of scaffolding.
• Transports tubular scaffold or other structural material and erects the scaffold to the dimensions required.
• Hoists scaffolding materials upward in order to erect temporary structure.
• Properly secures and levels locking sections of scaffolding material.
• Properly secures scaffold to the permanent structure for added stability.
• Adheres to all OSHA, site specific and Austin Industrial requirements for the erecting and navigation of the scaffolding.
• Performs final inspection of completed scaffolding.
• Dismantles scaffolding when it has been properly communicated to do so.
• Inspects and properly stows scaffolding material after dismantling.
