Job summary

Invasystems Inc in Midland, TX is seeking a SCADA Specialist / Engineer to drive the migration from Geo SCADA to Ignition while supporting the current system. You will join a small, hands-on team under a practical manager, focusing on reliability and rapid issue resolution.

You will troubleshoot SCADA software, build Ignition projects, support field communications, develop control logic, and pull data for reports. Some on-call rotation applies.

Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on SCADA experience in oil & gas, preferably midstream.
• Ignition experience is required; Geo SCADA experience is a plus.
• Experience with TCP/IP, Modbus, PLC/HMI and industrial networks.
• Midstream oil and gas knowledge strongly preferred.
• Ability to work with field staff and translate needs to control systems.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot SCADA software, server and RTU/PLC-to-SCADA comms issues.
• Build and support Ignition projects and graphic displays.
• Support field communications and coordinate with field techs and Control Center.
• Develop control logic (ladder, structured text, function blocks) and add devices.

• Work on tickets independently and participate in on-call rotation.

POSITION: SCADA Specialist / Engineer

Company: A private equity-backed midstream operator based in Dallas, TX

Location options: Midland, Houston or Dallas, TX, or Hobbs, NM

Schedule: Salaried. Monday-Thursday in the office, Fridays usually remote. Available for operational emergencies such as plant outages.

About The Role

The SCADA team supports the Control Center, Operations and field personnel. The company is migrating from Geo SCADA to Ignition, and this role will help drive that migration while supporting the current system. You'll work on a small, independent team under a hands-on, easygoing manager.

What You'll Do

• Troubleshoot and resolve SCADA software, server and RTU/PLC-to-SCADA communication issues


• Build and support Ignition projects and graphic displays for the control center and pipeline operations


• Support field communications and work directly with field technicians, the Network group and the Control Center


• Develop control logic (ladder logic, structured text, function blocks) and add devices for data acquisition


• Pull SCADA data for reports; write simple scripts and SQL queries


• Work support tickets independently and take part in the SCADA on-call rotation

What They're Looking For

• 3+ years of hands-on SCADA experience in oil and gas (7+ preferred)


• Ignition experience (top priority); Geo SCADA experience is a plus


• Midstream oil and gas experience strongly preferred


• TCP/IP, Modbus, PLC/HMI and industrial communications


• Patient, service-oriented communication with field staff; calm under pressure
