The Sherwin-Williams Company seeks a Lead Full Stack Application Developer to drive development and deployment of enhancements and new applications in local, networked, cloud-based and internet environments.

Job description

The Lead Full Stack Application Developer role will be responsible for leading the broaderprocess of developing and deploying enhancements and/or new applications used in local, networked, cloud-based or internet-related computer programs. They will use their extensive expertise in programming languages,tools, and delivery models, in conjunction with their methodology expertise to collaborate with variousstakeholders and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality products and solutions. This role requires an expertunderstanding of programming languages, tools, and delivery models, as well as the ability to effectivelycommunicate technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders. The incumbent will lead multiple stakeholders,including project teams, business analysts, and end-users, to ensure the development process is runningsmoothly. Ultimately, the incumbent will play a pivotal role in ensuring the organization's software applications areeffective, efficient, and provide a seamless experience for the end-users.

WHAT THE ROLE WILL DO:

• Oversee the process of analyzing system requirements by providing guidance on translating requirements intosoftware programming specifications and mentoring the team ofengineers
• Oversee and share perspective in the development, coding, integration, testing, and debugging of softwareapplications using current programming languages, while leveraging the expertise of the team members andensuring the delivery of high-qualitysolutions
• Drive the creation of detailed and user-friendly documentation and procedures for the installation andmaintenance of software, ensuring all best practices are being followed by theteam
• Drive strategies to manage and facilitate collaboration and communication with various stakeholders such asusers, developers, and project managers to ensure timely delivery of products andsolutions.
• Encouraging the adoption of emerging technologies and programming languages that strategically aligning withthe organization's overall technology roadmap andobjectives

This position is not hybrid/remote and will be located at our Cleveland Headquarters office.

Required Qualifications:

• 6+ years of experience in software development, specifically in application development engineering in a manufacturing environment (SCADA)
• Expertise in programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, or Ruby
• Expertise in software development tools such as Git or Jenkins
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
• Ability to mentor and coach junior developers
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field. In lieu of a degree, at least 9 years of experience in application development or application engineering
• Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without now or in the future requiring sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., OPT, CPT, H1B, EB-1, etc.)
• Must be (18) eighteen years of age

Preferred Qualifications:

• Specific knowledge/experience: Ignition 8.1 / Perspective Python, Java, JavaScript, C / C++, SQL, and MQTT protocol. A working knowledge of JIRA is a plus but not required. As part of a team, this position will be working closely within the IT team as well as Engineering.
