Job summary

Barry Callebaut seeks a SC Transformation PMO Director to lead program governance for North American supply chain transformations. You will drive planning, risk management, and cross-functional coordination to deliver strategic initiatives within approved investments.

Based in Chicago or hybrid, you will align commercial strategies with supply chain programs, manage start-ups, and enable collaboration across regional functions while ensuring delivery within timelines and targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations or related field.
• Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
• Fluency in English and Spanish (optional).
• PM certification in Project Management.
• Lean, Six Sigma, or Operational Excellence (optional).
• 10+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Operations, or Operational Excellence.

Responsibilities

• Establish and enforce program management standards across North America supply chain transformation initiatives.
• Translate commercial strategy into executable supply chain programs and align with business goals.
• Lead cross-functional coordination among planning, logistics, manufacturing, procurement, engineering, finance, and HR.
• Support initiation and start-up of new capacity and sites; ensure readiness and ramp-up targets.

About the Role

The SC Transformation PMO Director will lead the Program Management governance for supply chain operations in NA. This role is responsible for driving the successful execution of strategic initiatives through detailed planning, proactive risk management, and cross-functional coordination.

The SC Transformation PMO Director will ensure alignment with commercial strategies, consolidate cross functional perspective towards transformation execution, support new capacity start-ups, and enable effective collaboration across regional functions and stakeholders.

Operating within a matrixed and cross-functional environment, the Director acts as the single point of integration across all workstreams, bridging strategic intent with execution discipline. While not the final CapEx owner, the role exerts strong financial stewardship and decision influence, ensuring delivery within approved investment parameters, timeline, and performance targets.

Job Responsibilities Include

• Program Governance & Execution Leadership
• Establish and enforce program management standards across all supply chain transformation initiatives in North America.
• Drive disciplined execution through structured planning, milestone management, dependency mapping, and progress tracking.
• Maintain a single, integrated program roadmap that aligns workstreams, timelines, and deliverables.
• Strategic Alignment & Commercial Integration
• Translate commercial strategy into executable supply chain programs, ensuring operational plans support revenue, margin, and customer commitments.
• Facilitate alignment between commercial, operations, finance, and regional leadership to ensure transformation priorities reflect business needs.
• Act as the integrator between strategic intent and operational execution, ensuring decisions remain grounded in business outcomes.
• Cross-Functional Coordination & Stakeholder Management
• Serve as the single point of integration across all workstreams, consolidating perspectives and resolving cross-functional conflicts.
• Enable collaboration across regional functions (planning, logistics, manufacturing, procurement, engineering, finance, HR).
• Lead steering committees, governance forums, and executive updates, ensuring transparency and alignment.
• Identify, assess, and proactively mitigate program risks, including operational, financial, regulatory, and timeline risks.
• Escalate critical issues with recommended solutions, not just problem statements.
• Ensure contingency planning and scenario modeling for major transformation initiatives.
• Capacity Expansion & New Site Start-Up Support
• Support planning and execution of new capacity start-ups, including manufacturing lines, distribution centers, or new operational capabilities.
• Coordinate cross-functional readiness (people, process, technology, equipment, regulatory).
• Ensure start-up timelines and performance ramp-up targets met.
• Performance Measurement & Reporting
• Define KPIs and success metrics for transformation initiatives.
• Establish dashboards and reporting mechanisms for executives and functional leaders.
• Track benefits realization, ensuring transformation outcomes are delivered and sustained.
• Change Management & Organizational Readiness
• Partner with HR, communications, and functional leaders to drive adoption of new processes, systems, and ways of working.
• Ensure teams are prepared for operational changes, including training, capability building, and communication.
• Promote a culture of disciplined execution and continuous improvement.

About You

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations or related field (required)
• Master’s degree or MBA (preferred)
• Fluency in English and Spanish (optional)
• Formal training or certification in Project Management.
• Formal training or certification in Lean, Six Sigma, or Operational Excellence (optional)
• 10+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Operations, or Operational Excellence roles
• Proven track record in leading regional or multi-country transformation programs or large programs.
• Strong experience in productivity governance, risk management, and stakeholder engagement
• Knowledge of food manufacturing or similar industries (preferred)
• This role is to be based in Chicago or Hybrid.
• Regional travel is required (approx. 20-30%) across North America.
