Job summary

Lowe's Companies, Inc. in Wilkesboro, NC is seeking a Security Officer to provide a visible security and safety presence across the assigned supply chain location, protecting Lowe's Safe environment and assets.

You will patrol inside and outside, validate access, respond to incidents, and collaborate with Supply Chain leadership to enforce policies. Proficiency with CCTV and incident reporting is expected with required licenses and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent experience.
• 1 year retail, security, first-responder, or military experience.
• 1 year big-box retail, security, or military experience.
• Driver's License.
• Security License.

Responsibilities

• Provide a visible and proactive physical security and safety presence across the location.
• Validate building security per policy throughout the day (Gates, Doors, Access Control, Perimeter).
• Engage with over-the-road and dedicated fleet drivers including inbound & outbound processes in compliance with CTPAT.
• Conduct regular safety and physical security audits using handheld devices.
• Conduct interior and exterior patrols to identify security concerns, on foot and by company vehicle.
• De-escalate situations involving associates, visitors, and contractors using professional techniques.
• Respond to incidents, accidents, and emergencies such as medical situations or fire alarms.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain leadership to enforce policies and procedures.
• Report suspicious behavior, safety hazards, or security breaches to leadership.
• Use case management system to complete detailed incident reports with accurate descriptions.
• Utilize CCTV to monitor security and detect unauthorized activities.
• Attend monthly Safety Team meetings to stay informed on updates and changes.
• Maintain required certifications and licenses as required by Lowe's.
• Participate in court hearings when applicable and maintain relationships with local law enforcement.

• Perform regular safety and physical security audits to ensure proper execution using hand-held mobile devices.
• Conduct regular patrols of the interior and exterior premises to identify potential security concerns both on foot and by using a company-owned vehicle.
• De-escalate situations involving associates, visitors, and contractors, using professional techniques.
• Respond promptly and appropriately to incidents, accidents, and emergencies, such as medical situations or fire alarms.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain leadership and associates to enforce policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement, if applicable
• 1 Year Retail, security, first-responder, or military experience (or related field)
• 1 Year Big-box retail, security, or military experience
• Driver's License
• Security License

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree Criminal Justice, Safety, or related security field
• 1 Year Experience with detailed incident report-writing
• 1 Year Experience conducting quality reviews/audits
• 1 Year Experience in using physical security systems (CCTV, EAS, etc.)
• First-Aid Certification
• De-Escalation/Crisis Intervention
