Job summary

Greif, Inc. in Woodbine Township, Illinois, is seeking a Saw Operator to join our manufacturing team. You will operate routine production machinery, measure finished parts, and maintain quality records to meet specifications and tolerances.

The shift is Monday through Friday (7:15am–3:30pm). You will follow instructions, interpret job specs, and assist in basic maintenance while upholding a clean and safe work area. Eligible for incentives and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is typically required.
• Ability to read and interpret production specifications and quality requirements.
• Willingness to follow directions and work well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate routine production machinery according to prints and specifications.
• Maintain logs/records of units produced and report rejects.
• Inspect equipment prior to use and perform basic adjustments and maintenance.
• Keep work area clean, safe, and organized while following safety regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Shift: Monday - Friday (7:15am - 3:30pm)

Key Responsibilities

• Operates routine production machinery in accordance with prints and specifications provided.
• Carry out routine activities that produces the required quantity of parts within established specifications and tolerances.
• Measures finished parts with precision tools, ensuring compliance with function, quality, and cosmetic specifications.
• Maintains logs and records of units produced.
• Report any errors resulting in rejected or discarded pieces.
• Inspects equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment; performs basic and routine adjustments and maintenance.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
• Follow safety regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

Typically possesses a high school diploma (or equivalent) and up to 2 years of relevant experience.

Knowledge and Skills

• Willingness to follow directions and work well in a team.
• Ability to interpret and translate job specifications for production machineries.
• Fundamental understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment.

Compensation Range

The pay range for this position is $17.55 - $28.03annually.

Typically, a competitive wage for new hires will fall between17.87 to17.87.

Offers for this position may vary based on market data and other factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location.

If the competitive wage is equal in both fields, the starting rate is the same for all applicants that apply for this role.

The starting rate is not representative of future compensation increases.

The position may also be eligible for a short-term incentive.
