ATC Automation is seeking a Saw Operator to join our team in Cookeville, TN. This hands‑on role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a manufacturing environment, values precision, quality, teamwork and safety. As a Saw Operator, you will play an important role in supporting the production of custom automation systems by preparing and cutting materials according to blueprints and specifications.

How You’ll Contribute
  • Interpret blueprints, work instructions, and material requirements to prepare and cut materials accurately.
  • Generate and verify material lists to support production and fabrication needs.
  • Perform sawing operations in accordance with specifications, quality standards, and work instructions.
  • Read and interpret metric and SAE measurements using precision measuring instruments and tools.
  • Perform basic mathematical calculations to support Statistical Process Control (SPC) measurements and charting techniques.
  • Review daily work schedules and inspect equipment, safety devices, mistake‑proofing devices, materials, and supplies before beginning work.
  • Learn and follow all job procedures, work instructions, and operational processes to perform assigned tasks successfully.
  • Complete required paperwork accurately and maintain production records as needed.
  • Maintain tools and equipment to support safe and efficient operations.
  • Identify and report safety concerns, quality issues, and material shortages to the Team Leader.
  • Perform housekeeping duties to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow all Health & Safety, Quality Management, and Environmental Management System policies and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively as a valued member of the Tooling and Fabrication team.
  • Support overtime needs when required to meet production goals.

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Ability to follow instructions, work safely, and maintain a high level of quality and accuracy.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior manufacturing, fabrication, machining, or related hands‑on experience preferred.
  • Technical training or related education is a plus.
  • Strong mathematical aptitude and experience using precision measuring instruments.
  • Ability to effectively plan, organize, and prioritize work.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining accuracy and quality.
Physical Demands and Conditions
  • Stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to floor.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights of up to 35 feet.
  • Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in various conditions.
  • Exposure to high noise levels, moving/rotating equipment, fumes, dust, oil and other fluids.
  • Exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally.
  • Exert 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently.
  • Exert up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • VISUAL ACUITY: Near acuity with or without accommodation.
  • HEARING Ability: Ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose.
